undivided

"Train me, God, to walk straight;
then I'll follow your true path.
Put me together, one heart and mind;
then, undivided, I'll worship in joyful fear."
~Psalm 86:11

Even David, a man after God's own heart, had to ask God to give him an undivided heart. Why do I believe that if I just strive hard enough, I can remain fully committed to God? I don't have the capacity. Regardless of how hard I try, I am incapable. But that is not the end... He can give me an undivided heart, a heart fully His, if I seek Him, if I trust Him, and not my own strength. Lord, I want an undivided heart. I do not want be torn between myself and You...I just want You.
